Data Management

K-12 Performance Data Management Platform

Ask yourself these questions:
  • Do you have multiple copies of the same data (but not quite the same) causing mix-ups?
  • Do you know who is the authoritative source for your data and where it resides?
  • Do you limit yourself to working with data in a spreadsheet format, missing the opportunities of a relational database?
  • Are your paper reports cumbersome?
  • Do different people in your school and district interpret the same data in different ways?
  • Is some of your data missing or inaccurate?
  • Is the right data put in front of the right people at the right time?
Get Your Data Systems Working Together for Top-Notch Reporting and Astute Data-Driven Insights

Follett Software Company’s TetraData performance data platform enables you to manage, move, consolidate, and cleanse your education data. You’ll gain control – moving data from multiple source systems into a single data store where it can be pushed back out in cleansed form. The result? Your data systems will work together for reporting and confident data-driven insights.

With the K-12 Performance Data Management Platform, you get:
  • Data on DemandTM (DOD), an Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) tool that connects directly to digital source data (fixed files, delimited files, ODBC or OLEDB including SQL Server) to provide automatic data loading into a central data store or warehouse. It was specifically designed for K-12 districts to move, cleanse, and transform educational data and reports exceptions based on standard data protocols.
  • Central Data StoreTM (CDS), a standards-based central data store that:
    • Receives data in a consistent format from other education source systems
    • Stores the most current and historic versions of the data,
    • And passes the information to other transactional, analytic, and reporting systems.
  • TetraData Analytical Warehouse, a comprehensive data warehouse that enables you access to nearly real-time data related to students, staff, faculty and other enterprise-wide sources of interest.
  • TetraData Matrix Server, a virtual OLAP middleware that sits on top of your SQL server to provide highly efficient data access.  Matrix offers distinct advantages over traditional OLAP warehouse structures.  With TetraData’s matrix you are not required to pre-define aggregate or summary data slices before the warehouse is built, so your users have significantly more flexibility in how they can drill-down and pivot through data.   The result?  Improved performance and reduced database size – giving you the data you need, the way you need it, when you need it.
  • The TetraData Matrix Administrator is a client/server tool that allows administrators to manage the metabase and underlying data warehouse. System administrators will use it to:
    • add, remove or modify data and metadata
    • create new database structures from metadata
    • manage sets, objects, and attributes
    • create and edit relationships between objects in the data warehouse
    • create and manage policy constraints that determine security settings
    • restore or backup databases
    • manage the security features of the TetraData Matrix and TetraData Analyzer
  • Profile Manager is a web application that allows you to manage the security of the Portal and the use of all Analysis Suite applications at the user sign-on level.
  • Assessment Loader is a tool that enables you to enter test data on your own. Assessment Loader shortens the time between receiving new assessment data and analyzing that data. With Assessment Loader, you can load assessment data into a temporary warehouse as soon as new data is received. This warehouse includes all of the analysis capability of your regular warehouse. Because you don’t have to wait for a regular data refresh, users can immediately look at and begin analyzing student test data. This data can be used until it is loaded into the regular warehouse per formal procedure.
